Chapter One: Mother Russia

1 september 2016 - Moskou, Rusland

Day 1.

Arrival in Moscow at 05.00, pretty cold. Maybe because I didn't sleep last night. Start of the journey begins in a twilight, under the risin sun Moscow emerges. Large concrete buildings on both sides of the road, endless roads and buildings....Moscow welcomes you.

I decided to have an early check in and to get some sleep, no extending the day, after all I am not 20 anymore. After a couple of hours sleep I am heading to the city center. I manage to decipher the Russian hieroglyphs and against all expectations I am going straight to the Kremlin, what a wonderful contrast with the suburbs. Beautiful buildings, colorful, big...kind of showing off, but in a neat way. Kremlin and all its cathedrals are an enjoyment for the eye, also all the building surrounding the red square are majestic. I already regret that I have only one day in Moscow, way to short. I achieve to walk 18 kilometers, with the last 5 km only with one thing in my mind, you don't have to walk in the coming 4 days..

There are so many museums/galleries that I have to make a decision, for now I visit only the historic museum of Russia, there I saw my crown, bit show off, but I'll know it fits..

The contrast will be huge in the coming days. Everything needs to sink in, probably a beter describtion of Russia/Moscow can be given when I arrive in Siberia and most likely chapter one will be partial rewritten.
